TED is a non-profit organization on a mission to discover and spread ideas that spark imagination, embrace possibility and catalyze impact. It began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and each year, more than 3,000 independently run TEDx events bring people together to share ideas and bridge divides in communities on every continent.

About igniTED

Saint Jude Catholic School has hosted a number of TEDx events in its own halls, with the most recent one being just last year. Now, our team intends to carry on this legacy with TEDxYouth@SJCS: IgniTED. As constant and impermanent as a flame may be, especially in times as uncertain as the ones we live in today, our event focuses on the passion and heart that have sparked changes in our lives and in the lives of others.

She is the author of several bestselling books including "Mission Happiness," and "Money & Me." Through her writing, speaking engagements, and online courses, she inspires and motivates individuals to pursue their passions and positively impact the world.

IgniTED by the flames of motivation, Kyle Thomas Tiu, the talented holder of the title 'Mr. Sportsfest' SY 2019-2020, shares how he wonderfully finds a balance between his extracurricular passions and his academic endeavor.

Loved by all her students - whether past or present, Gemmalyn Priela Bilgera, or more simply Ms. Priela, shares her journey, challenges, and perspectives on the changing world of education.

The dazzling young actress Reins Mika, the first Filipina model to win the Digital Creator Award at the EML World Final Competition last 2021, continues to shine and inspire audiences! This SJCS IBDP alumna, who has an alluring presence, offers unique perspectives as she thrives in showbiz and realizes her wildest dreams.

Considered one of the founding fathers of digital marketing in the Philippines, Dr. Donald Lim has received several prestigious awards from various institutions. He is the current Chief Operating Officer of DITO CME, and the Chief Innovation Officer of Udenna Corporation. Dr. Lim’s remarkable history of catalyzing change and delivering exceptional outcomes leaves no doubt that he will share inspiring knowledge.

Turning his research into a reality, this Thomasian's thesis inspired the first renovation of the Manila Zoo. The young architect and SJCS alumnus proves that with passion and dedication, nothing is impossible. With his affection towards animals, Kevin Siy's devotion to enhancing Manila Zoo's facilities not only benefited park goers— but the animals as well.

Introducing a recipient of the prestigious ‘10 Most Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs’ award in 2009, Mr. Alvin Kingson Tan, the President and CEO of Fil-Chi Media Productions, Inc., which manages the multi-platform agency, ChiNOY TV, provides Chinese-Filipinos an avenue to explore more and embrace their distinctive culture and heritage.

PROJECT HEAD

As the lead organizer of the event, the project head will be the main point of contact for the event and oversee the general management of the event.

LOGISTICS COMMITTEE

They are responsible for coordinating with outside vendors and suppliers to procure the materials needed for the event, managing registration, and handling the technical production of the event itself, such as lighting, sound, etcetera.

They are in charge of handling the general budget of the project and the individual expenses of each committee in accordance with their needs, as well as reaching out to and negotiating with sponsors to fundraise for the event.

PROGRAMS COMMITTEE

They will be the ones to contact and coordinate with the speakers and will practice and prepare with the speakers leading up to the event. On the day of the event, they will be in charge of handling the speakers and audience throughout the day, with the assistance of recruited marshals. They will also handle clean-up after the event takes place.

PUBLICITIES COMMITTEE

They will manage the public presence of the project through social media or in-person events, raising awareness about the project and promoting it to a wider audience. They are in charge of the social media pages and the website for the event.

They will handle the branding and design of the project, as well as provide any necessary design/graphics for other committees. They will also be responsible for on-site design and the set-up of the event.

ONSITE COMMITTEE

They will be in charge of delegating and mobilizing committee members to assist in whatever on-site issues may occur before, during, and after the event. They will also coordinate with each committee to determine their needs and provide assistance.
